Education
1984: A degree from a NAAB-accredited program is required for initial licensure.
Experience
1970: Licensure candidates must have two years of experience.
Late-1980s: The U.S. Virgin Islands Board endorses the IDP.
1990: Completion of the IDP is required.
Examination
1970: The board begins administering the ARE.
Noteworthy
The U.S. Virgin Islands Board lost decades of historical records during Hurricane Hugo in 1989 and Hurricane Marilyn in 1995.
